Loving deeply...

I'm just overwhelmed about our upcoming Bible study tomorrow. I just previewed the dvd and I'm sitting here weeping. (What is it with me this week?) Anyway, tomorrow's session is about being the best possible traveling partners on this pilgrimage together. We'll be looking at schemes of the enemy to oppose us as we journey. We have to be willing to forgive, to encourage, to love deeply, to fight for each other. This is so important. We need some unity, don't we? I was reading John this week (in the tractor!) and I was struck again by the way Jesus prayed in John 17 - for himself, for his disciples, then for us. The prayer he prayed for us can be summed up in a simple statement: Make them one.
Lord, make us one. Make it so. Amen.

I feel that way every year... how would I do this without my friends! Makes me think of the Ladies Retreat we did at FBC Monroe -- Friendship in Bloom. Can't wait for the video tonight!

"fight for each other" i love that.. because sometimes it really is a fight... just have to remember that we are on the same team... i forget that.

We definitely need to fight FOR one another, not with one another! The scripture reference for that part was Nehemiah 4:16-18 when the exiles returned to rebuild the temple and worked with one hand and held their weapons in the other...ready to defend themselves or their brothers and sisters. Another sweet reference was Zephaniah 3:9..."shoulder to shoulder..." Lord, so be it!

God has given me 1 Peter 4:8 for weeks now and He did it again Tuesday nite! "Love covers a multitude of sins." Forgiveness seems to be the theme he is running thru my life right now. I count it all joy that He is taking such care for my wayward heart.....
